Commendatore in Don Giovanni at the Bermuda Festival,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hartleyvoices.co.uk\/garden-party\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-694 size-full\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Gerard-Bass-4-Hartley-Voices-e1462822670411.jpg\" alt=\"Gerard Bass soloist for Hartley Voices\" width=\"149\" height=\"198\"><\/a>returning in 2007 to sing in La Boheme. That year also he sang Sachs for the first time, in a concert performance of Die Meistersinger von N\u00fcrnberg in Edinburgh. Other work abroad includes Alfonso (Cosi Fan Tutte) for the Cercle Royal Gaullois Artistique et Literaire in Brussels, and the Polizeikommissar (Der Rosenkavalier) on tour in Holland. Among 2011\u2019s engagements were Don Magnifico (Cenerentola) Alcindoro (Boh\u00e8me) and Commendatore in Opera Up Close\u2019s acclaimed production of Don Giovanni in London. In September 2012, he will sing his first Gurnemanz (Parsifal) in Edinburgh.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Gerard was the splendid soloist\u2026his bass-baritone is similar to that of the late Paul Sch\u00f6ffler\u2026an ideal Hans Sachs,or a bel canto Figaro, or a bravura Escamillo.&#8221; &#8211; David George, North London and Herts News<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sRHVumghE6w?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0\" width=\"270\" height=\"180\" frameborder=\"1\" scrolling=\"no\" align=\"left\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nRegular concert engagements have included bass soloist in the Verdi Requiem at Birmingham Symphony Hall as well as at Canterbury, Winchester and Arundel Cathedrals, Mozart\u2019s Coronation Mass at St. John\u2019s Smith Square with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Mendelssohn\u2019s Elijah in Winchester Cathedral, Handel\u2019s Messiah in Rouen, and Mozart\u2019s Requiem in Santiago da Compostela.
